Life is a rollercoaster.

 'Tis true. What lurks around any corner is at least in part unknown. Reason, were one needed, to make the most of all of our time.

This started life as bland colour, but made for a zingier black and white.

 Clearly there are better meals to be had, the tree still being well endowed with fruit for January.
